Globe Worldwide Secures Jobs and Future

Kingsclere-based BCMS Corporate has played a part in securing a dozen jobs in the telecommunications sector following the successful sale of Globe Worldwide to Chapco.

Founded in Leighton Buzzard in 2005, Globe Worldwide specialises in supplying major OEMs as well as network and mobile operators with a complete range of telecoms solutions. It is also one of the first companies in the UK to achieve TL 9000 certification, a new quality management benchmarking system.

However, Globe Worldwide has found trading difficult since the turn of the year, and a team from BCMS Corporate was brought in to help identify a suitable buyer for the business.

The new owners, Leicestershire-based Chapco (Infrastructure Services) Limited are part of the Chapco group of companies, a leading provider of property and business support services, with clients ranging from DHL and George Clothing to Nissan and Toys R Us.

Under the terms of the acquisition Globe Worldwide co-founder Paul Thomas will continue to oversee day to day operations of the company.

John Humphrey, the deal leader at BCMS Corporate, said: “We are extremely pleased to have found a buyer for Globe Worldwide so quickly and with it secure the jobs of so many people, great news in these challenging economic times.
