BCMS Corporate secures future growth for Delta following transatlantic sale to OpSec Security Group

International M&A specialist BCMS Corporate has completed the transatlantic £12.5m sale of leading clothing label manufacturer, Delta Labelling Ltd, to US-based OpSec Security Group PLC.

Founded in the mid-1990s in Tamworth by Jim Bowman, Delta, designs, develops and supplies labels and brand protection products to some of the top clothing brands in the world. Its labels have been sold in many countries and used to protect garments for most of the major sporting events including the FIFA World Cup, World Cup Cricket, World Cup Rugby, the Olympics, and the Ryder Cup.

Today, Delta employs 11 people at its headquarters in Staffordshire together with a further 14 at its Far East subsidiary in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

The shareholders recently took the decision to identify a buyer for the business and approached BCMS Corporate for support. Interest in the company was unprecedented with over 60 companies expressing serious interest.

The new owners of Delta are Denver-based OpSec Security Group PLC, global leaders in anti-counterfeiting technologies as well as solutions and services for physical and online brand protection to over 300 companies across industry sectors and over 50 governments worldwide. The UK subsidiary of OpSec Security PLC is headquartered in Washington, Tyne & Wear.

Under the terms of the sale, founder Jim Bowman will remain with the business as Managing Director, Global Apparel Products, whilst Finance Director Steve Hayes, becomes Operations Director of Global Apparel Products.
