BCMS Corporate Trust – Because Money Isn’t Everything

Although the primary focus at BCMS Corporate is to generate maximum sales value for our clients, we recognise that money isn’t everything.

In a world where many people have almost nothing, we feel a genuine responsibility to help and care for the most vulnerable people who endure overwhelming hardship as part of their daily lives.

In a very small way, we wanted to improve the lives of the world’s poorest people. Our Directors formed ‘The Poor and the Needy Benefit Trust’, an organisation specifically created to support people who live in some of the world’s most deprived areas, such as the Indian cities of Kakinada and Bangalore.

Each year, a BCMS Corporate Director visits our projects to ensure that the money donated directly benefits the people our Trust was formed to support. Although we still have much to achieve, we’re proud of the life changing initiatives BCMS Corporate has helped to finance.

A School in Kakinada

The construction of a three-storey school in Kakinada. 370 children from poor homes are educated here, giving them a very real opportunity to make positive changes to their own lives and those of their families and communities.

The school has now been extended to provide vital permanent accommodation for 50 orphans and 25 widows. Nourishing food and clothing are provided by regular donations from our Trust.

An Orphanage in Bangalore

The Trust has provided financial aid to support the construction of a much needed orphanage in Bangalore, one of poorest cities in India. The new orphanage provides safety, shelter and comfort to 17 abandoned and orphaned girls, ranging in age from 3 to 10 years old.

These highly vulnerable children were rescued from almost unimaginably horrific conditions. For example, one 3 year old little girl was found naked and abandoned in a refuse dump, where she had lived alone for 6 months. Riddled with worms and lice, and suffering from severe malnutrition, she is now well fed, lively and enjoying a secure life with her new ‘family’ at the orphanage.

A Self-Help Project in North India

Funds from our Trust have been used to establish an empowering self-help project in a village in North India. The project aims to support the villagers to develop their own farming business so they can create a sustainable future for generations to come.

Visit the Poor and Needy Trust website for more information on these projects.
