Why did you decide to sell your business?

Flowmaster had historically been owned by a family-run investment business. This came to an end after the founder of the business passed away a few years ago. It was decided at that point that a new long-term home was needed for Flowmaster and the search really began there.

How did you find out about BCMS Corporate and why did you select us to sell your business?

It came through our contacts of our former CEO, who retired from Flowmaster three years ago.

Did you consider any competitors of ours and if so why did you not use them? If you didn’t consider any competitors, why not?

I hate to admit it but we did. We weighed up two parties. BCMS Corporate came across as a very client-oriented firm with solid experience and network in our specific business field. The team from BCMS Corporate were also very personable and after our meetings we felt they were the ones who could deliver.

How did you feel the sale process was managed?

It was managed extremely well. The team at BCMS Corporate were optimistic at all times, even though at some points, it didn’t look like we would find the right buyer. What we liked most about them was there ability to focus on the solution rather than just the problem.

How important was confidentiality and why was this?

Confidentiality was key. We needed the team at Flowmaster as well as our customers to stay committed and staying quiet throughout the duration of the sale wasn’t easy.

Did the sale process affect the everyday management of your company?

Sadly it did but that was down in the main to the length of the sales process, which required a lot of attention from the management team.

Are your staff staying with the company and was this an important factor in the sale process?

I am delighted to say that all of the key personnel stayed. They had been loyal throughout and it was great to see their loyalty rewarded by the new owners of Flowmaster.

Will you have any involvement in the business post sale and if not what does the future hold for you?

I won’t have any active involvement as I am focusing my time on new international turn around businesses but I will keep in touch with everyone on a regular basis.

Would you recommend BCMS Corporate’s services to another company considering selling?

Without a shadow of a doubt.

How satisfied were you with the sale price and terms achieved?

We are extremely pleased with the terms of the sale, thanks to some good teamwork and good guidance on the part of BCMS Corporate on the terms that could be reached.

What is your overall opinion of BCMS Corporate?

Working with BCMS Corporate was a very positive experience for all concerned. They never stepped back and remained upbeat throughout, even when things got tough.
